Properties
Liquid metal at room temperature, with mirror lustre. Specific gravity 13.6 at 4 °C. Melting point −38.85 °C, boiling point 357.55 °C. It has trace volatilisation at room temperature and is soluble in nitric acid, aqua regia and hot sulfuric acid, but insoluble in hydrochloric acid and dilute sulfuric acid.
The product has a silver-white specular lustre and does not contain mechanical impurities (sand, ash, etc.).
